Grants can help any business, but not every business is eligible for support. We have advised and successfully supported SME clients on making grant applications for the last 30 years, specialising in bids for Research and Development, Innovation and Capital Investment projects. During this time, we have dealt with agencies administrating UK, regional and EU initiatives.
At present, the main sources of grant support are focused on UK-based Research and Development and Innovation projects. Innovate UK is the national innovation agency, providing grant support primarily to applicants developing new products and services.
Regular ‘calls’ are announced, inviting applications supporting a particular sector or theme and at any given time, a variety of calls are usually open for submissions. However, once the call is announced, the window an applicant has in which to prepare and submit an application is short and so time pressure is an important consideration when deciding whether or not to make an application.
Another equally significant factor is having the ability and experience to structure a bid within the application framework that makes the strongest case for support, demonstrating an understanding of and addressing the scheme’s key assessment criteria.
We continue to maintain our strong track record in helping clients secure grant finance and in addition to assisting with bid writing, we utilise research and tracking tools allowing us to continually monitor and update our clients on the latest grant opportunities as soon as they are announced.
